The match-book of dogs, kept honestly

Greyhound

Low energy, low grooming, quiet by rating and flat-friendly: the Greyhound's sheet is calmer than its reputation.

The fastest dog breed, famous for being a couch potato at home — the one-line entry carries both claims, and the ratings side firmly with the sofa.

The temperament sheet

Energy is rated low. For all the racing reputation, the sheet describes a dog content with unhurried days and settled evenings. Tolerance for time alone is moderate: a reasonable stretch is fine, a permanent arrangement of empty rooms is not.

With children the rating is good, and the first-dog answer is a plain yes. Space is flat-ok — a large dog with a flat-ok rating is a rare sight in this annual, and here the sheet means it.

The practical side

Size is large; the rest of this section is short because the upkeep is light. Grooming is low, shedding is low, and barking is rated quiet — the softest mark we give. Between them, the practical columns of this sheet are about as undemanding as they come.

The dog in front of you

Even so, no sheet settles anything on its own. Individual dogs outrank their breed sheet, and meeting the actual dog outranks everything, this page cheerfully included.
